Clemson Fuse

This internship is designed for someone who is hungry to grow themselves spiritually and grow the Kingdom through serving and leading students & volunteers in our community. This person’s main responsibilities will consist of leading the outreach initiative for our student ministry, as well as leading the Gauntlet Summer Camp team for the Clemson Campus. This role requires someone who is both passionate about reaching more middle and high school students and their families with the Gospel of Jesus, as well as building, mobilizing, and activating teams of volunteers to reach our city and execute the student ministry of Newspring Church. Outreach (entirety of internship)

  • Personally plan to spend at least 5 hours of your week on students’ turf in various forms (i.e., school lunches, school events, etc.)
  • Recruit, train and mobilize volunteers to get onto students’ turf within our city.
  • Actively seek out opportunities for our church to partner with middle & high school administrators, faculty, athletic teams, and clubs to discover how we can support them and connect with students on their turf.
  • Responsible for collecting weekly stories and attendance of on-turf volunteers for the previous week.

Gauntlet Summer Camp (starting December 2024)
Recruit and lead a team of volunteers to execute the following responsibilities for Gauntlet Summer Camp:

  • Execute the Gauntlet atrium setup
  • Schedule and equip volunteers for the Gauntlet atrium team
  • Work with Fuse Groups Area Leader to recruit & schedule interviews for Gauntlet room leaders
  • Student financial assistance process
  • Monday departure & Friday return process of Gauntlet week

Hold leadership responsibilities within our weekly Fuse gatherings on Wednesday nights.

Leading alongside Fuse Pastor and other Fuse Staff through Next Step Conversations with potential volunteers to learn what it’s like to use discernment in a real time conversation and decide if that person is the best fit to shepherd our students.

Required to serve the entirety of our Gauntlet Summer Camp, June 23 - June 27.

Each of these responsibilities are designed to develop the intern to grow in leadership, pastoring people, the building of teams, planning and execution of events, and communicating information through different avenues.
